The Dockland area is good for a lot more than just sights…
While the Docklands may be predominantly known for its incredibly rich and vast history, it should also be known for something else – a great place to get a drink. Whether you’re chasing the most perfectly pulled pint, a crisp glass of wine, or a mojito with the exact amount of mint, you’ll find them along the water’s edge.
Some of these pubs have been around decades, standing the test of time in a city that is welcoming new bars and restaurants all the time, so you don’t need to take my word for it that they’re some of the best.

1. Harbourmaster
Location: IFSC Dock
For that classic Irish pub feel, Harbourmaster is a staple and a go-to for pints and pub grub. They have a super extensive menu that caters towards people of all dietary requirements, so ideal no matter the group you have.

Location: Sir Rogerson’s Quay
A favourite amongst the likes of U2 and Davie Bowie, due to its proximity to Windmill Lane Recording Studios, Docker’s remains a solid place for a bite to eat, and a tipple.

Location: Sir Rogerson’s Quay
Aptly named given its proximity to the River Liffey, this traditional old style Dublin pub retain a wonderful ambience and provides a warm Irish welcome to locals and tourists alike.

4. The Bottle Boy
Location: North Wall Quay
Kicking off as a Spirit Grocers in the 1860s, The Bottle Boy has been dealing in drinks for over 150 years. Nestle into one of their cosy snugs, or sit up top with the barman – either way, you’ll feel a sense of welcome that has permeated the walls for decades.

5. The Brew Dock
Location: Amiens Street
A Galway Brewery pub, The Brew Dock is conveniently located next to Busarus, Connolly Station and the IFSC. They have a huge range of imported and local bottled beers, and are an ideal location to relax for an afternoon spent in the Docklands. So kick back, play some cards, and have a bite to eat.

Location: The chq Building
And right on-site is none other than Urban Brewing, a pub and restaurant that emulates the intimate nature of EPIC, based within the very same vaults. There is a brewery on-site with craft beers you’ll only find here.

Honourable Mention
EPIC’S Pub
Did you know EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum has its own pub? Gallery 15 welcomes you into a warm, filled with earthy wooden interiors and joyous trad music, with all the intimacy of an actual publican establishment.
The only downside? This is a dry pub, so you won’t be able to order a beverage, with or without alcohol, from inside the museum. But it sure will put you in the mood for one.
