Curious about what it’s like to trace your Irish roots with us? Here are a few words from people who’ve already taken that first step. For many, it begins with a name or a place, and leads to a deeper connection with their past, their family, and Ireland itself.
“We found our roots within hours of arriving in Ireland.”
David & Skylar, USA
On their honeymoon in Dublin, David and Skylar visited EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, unsure where to begin their trip.
After exploring the museum and meeting with on-site genealogy experts at the Irish Family History Centre, they uncovered surprising details about their Irish ancestry.
That discovery shaped the rest of their journey, guiding them to the places across Ireland their family once called home.

A few more kind words…
I was writing to share an extremely positive experience I had with your IFHC team last week in preparation for a trip around Ireland this week and next. Laura Price and I did a 90-minute online consultation, and she helped me advance a ton of research I did on my families in Sligo, Mayo and Donegal. She is a total and utter gem. I will tell everyone of my experience with this service. Well worth the investment for that level of expertise!

We had a zoom meeting with Emilie. She was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. We appreciated the information she discovered for us as well as directing us to various links that we can explore to learn more information. We will most likely ask for another meeting once we secure more information from our sources and seek our Irish connections. Once again please pass on word how pleased we were with Emilie’s meeting!

She went over and beyond!
Just have to express my gratitude for the very skilful and concentrated work by my consultant just now. She is so intelligent and so good at this! (Of course she is, she's Irish!) She went over and above! I feel very embarrassed that I forgot her name already, but please thank her for me. This is a wonderful service you offer. I can't wait to use this data and go back to Ireland to find the land in Derry, where part of my paternal line originated from. Again, thank you for this information!

It was a stupendous experience with Laura who is a wizard at negotiating the various genealogy and records sites. We feel extremely fortunate to have had her as our research guide to our ancestors. We so look forward to continuing the search not only to enlighten the story of our family’s past but to someday gain Irish citizenship. It would make a dream come true and make our grandparents and father proud.

Fabulous experience. I would highly recommend.

Wonderful way to spend 2 hours or more.
We went with limited details on our family. All 4 grandparents were from Ireland. We got great details on each branch going back to the mid 1800’s. It was educational and enlightening and we thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hours. We left with a great deal of information and additional links to go even deeper. It was amazing to us.

Our genealogist, Laura, was wonderful. She was engaged and relentlessly curious. We learned about our family history in Dungarvan and sent us links for further exploration.

This was my second 50 min consult with a genealogist from the IFHC, the first one was online from home a week before my trip and the second was in person with Dave. Based on the post immigration information I found before my travels, Dave was able to find a crucial document in my search. I have been playing with family history over the years, but the experience with these two genealogists helped me understand where to put my efforts and what is likely a dead end, at least for now.

My daughter and I had a lovely genealogy consultation with Declan. Declan did a wonderful job and was extremely knowledgeable and informative. The consultation was my daughter's Christmas gift, and she and I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a great deal!

Dear Declan, Thank you for a very intriguing and informative afternoon. I have so much respect for your knowledge and expertise in both genealogy, history, and cultures. I am so grateful to you for your kindness, patience, passion, and your time to share your insight and intuition. I am so appreciative of your support and encouragement. I will use this information to continue to research and to study my ancestry. I will think of you the next time I am in Alpharetta! (It is a small world!) Take care and best wishes for a wonderful day!

Great investment for our trip to Ireland!
The online session was great. I learned so much about where my family came from, where family members were married, or baptized. I learned about the type of house my grandfather grew up in. We didn't answer every question because some records just didn't exist, but it was well worth the time and money.

Amazing Experience.
Just spent an incredible hour with Laura at IFHC. My sister, daughter and I have spent the last few years building out our family tree. We hit some 'dead ends' on our Ireland branch. Laura jumped right in where we left off and used her knowledge, experience and savvy to find some 'off ramps' to our dead ends. We now know who those 1840 ancestors are. We also know what part of Ireland we come from and we can start to appreciate the amazing journeys they took and strength they had.
Thanks Laura, you're amazing!

Excellent passionate resource.
Laura was a fabulous resource. I have done much research but hit the brick wall. Laura provided my homework and shared some resources and ways to research that I had not tried. She was very thorough and you can tell she loves her work. It was time well spent and I am hoping to uncover more details about my Irish family. Thank you, Laura and the Irish Family Center.
