This October, EPIC is the perfect place for families looking to ‘Trick or Treat’ and spook up their week with our exciting range of events. Our entertaining and educational events offer families the opportunity to celebrate Halloween safely, whilst also learning about Ireland’s Samhain traditions.

We have also joined up with Samhain Festival to celebrate the ancient origins of Halloween, returning us to our folkloric roots with ghostly tales and inspiring a new generation to unleash their inner Seanchaí. From our Notorious Irish Murder Mystery Camp to our Halloween Around the World workshops, there is something for all members of the family to enjoy.

This Halloween, ancient Irish Druids, Warlocks and Witches will be taking over EPIC to bring back the Celtic festival of Samhain – and they want you to join in the fun!

This special multi-school workshop is available virtually and onsite in EPIC.

Our virtual session will be delivered via Zoom.

The virtual session is charge at €50.00 per class (maximum 30 students) and €6.50 per student for the onsite session.

Step inside the eerie vaults of EPIC and uncover how elements of the Halloween we know and love begun right here in Ireland. Discover the origins of Halloween and how through emigration it evolved while you take part in a spooktacular museum trail.

Discover why witches ride brooms; the secret occult societies that Ireland’s best known and most famous have joined throughout the years; create spooky poetry alongside W.B. Yeats; and meet the ghouls, fairies and spirits that are uniquely Irish; all by completing the challenges in our trail.

This is a self-guided trail, not a guided tour – collect your trail worksheet at the ticket desk.

This Halloween, step inside the eerie vaults of EPIC to take part in a special family Halloween experience!

This ticket includes entry to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, a special bespoke guided tour with interactive challenges, plus a workshop experience where participants will take part in activities and arts and crafts.

Families are encouraged to dress up thematically and will be working together to complete the tasks.

Join us as we leave daylight behind and explore the darker side of our mythologies and histories at EPIC on our Halloween Tour!

Halloween is fast approaching and it’s time to delve back in the origins of Irish traditions and explore how Samhain became Halloween. Uncover the tragic story of ‘Goody Annie Glover’ the unfortunate Irish woman who became the last person hanged for witchcraft in Boston in 1688 and how the influx of Irish immigrants, who brought their traditions and folktales, helped shape the story of jack-o’-lanterns in America.

This ticket includes entry to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum and a bespoke tour.

Notorious Irish Murder Mystery Camp

Wednesday November 2nd & Thursday 3rd

In this two day camp, EPIC’s detectives are trying to solve a case, and we’re enlisting only the most brave and fearsome recruits to join us as we dive into the darker side of Irish history.

Uncover those figures who made a notorious name for the Irish around the world, like legendary Wild West figure Billy the Kid; fearsome pirate of the Caribbean Anne Bonny; William Lamport, the Wexford man behind the mask of Zorro; Bootlegger, bank robber and gangster, George “Machine Gun” Kelly, and more.
