Join us during Seachtain na Gaeilge and St. Patrick’s Festival for a fun-filled family-friendly series of activities themed around Irish treasures and triumphs. Discover the stories of things the Irish are beloved for around the world, from the simple cupán tae (cup of tea) to our famous Seanchaí (storytellers), and some great tales of Irish adventure and achievement too!
Beginning with our pop-up museum trail on 10 March, journey underground in our atmospheric vaults and search for 10 hidden shamrocks to discover a few Irish secrets, phrases and stories that might surprise you, before immersing yourself in a range of complementary activities.
On 10 March we’ll start learning Irish young, when we discover how language is an important and vital tool in preschool development in our very special bi-lingual themed Tiny Tots (no experience necessary!)
On Saturday 14 March, we’re being joined by storyteller and singer Helena Byrne for two very special interactive storytelling sessions delving deeper into the lore of St. Patrick. In this workshop children will hear some famous Irish myths and legends from around the world and get the chance to join in the storytelling by bringing their favourite character to life through activities such as movement and drawing.
Also on March 14, we’ll be creating a mini-book of our own Irish treasures (including a few Irish words) with award-winning Children’s Book illustrator Tarsila Krüse. Finally, we’ll get extra green, slimey and messy with our St. Patrick’s Day Slime Labs – back due to popular demand – on March 17!
The museum trail is included as part of general entry to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, but all other events must be booked in advance. Head to the events section of our website for more details and to book now!
