New Health and Safety Measures

To ensure the well-being of all our visitors and staff, we will be implementing a range of operational changes in accordance with Government and HSE guidelines, and Fáilte Ireland’s Safety Charter for Visitor Attractions.

Reduced Capacity Limits

Timed-entry every 15 minutes in groups of 25 people (maximum) will apply to ensure a safe capacity is maintained. Our Visitor Experience team are also constantly monitoring the movement and flow of visitors through the museum, to ensure there is no build-up of visitors at pinch points or at popular galleries.

We recommend visitors to book online in advance to ensure entry at your preferred time and date. Our ticket desk will still accept walk-ins, all of whom will be allowed entry in the next available time slot.

Sanitising and Cleaning

Sanitising stations will be widely available, at entry, at our ticket desk, in our galleries, in our gift shop, and on exit. Increased and regular cleaning in all areas and sanitising of major touch points is being carried out. Each visitor will be issued with sterilised stylus pen to use our interactive touchscreens within the museum. We ask all visitors not to use their hands to touch any interactive element within our galleries.

Ventilation and Filtration

EPIC Museum has an air handling system (AHU) in place that controls the flow of fresh filtered air to the museum and also extracts air from the museum giving us a constant air flow throughout the vaults. This unit is constantly monitored by our Building Management System (BMS) which controls the temperature to the museum keeping it at an optimum Level.

The filters on our AHU system are replaced on a quarterly basis in line with our planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule.

Along with our Maintenance plans with external contractors, NDH, we are checking daily the operation of the AHU System to ensure all is working correctly.

Face Coverings

We ask all visitors to wear a face mask or face covering while visiting our museum and gift shop. PPE can be purchased at our ticket desk or in our gift shop.

Social Distancing

We ask all visitors to adhere to the social distancing advice. Visitors not from the same household must maintain a 2 metre distance from each other where possible. Our museum is divided in to 20 galleries, each approximately 85 sq metres in size, with a total area of 1,700 sq metres. We would kindly ask all visitors to be considerate and patient with other visitors and our staff in this regard while visiting our museum.

Contactless Payment

We encourage all visitors to use contactless payment at our ticket desk and in our gift shop. Perspex screens have been installed between our tills to help ensure the safety for our staff and visitors.

Personal Responsibility

By purchasing a ticket to visit our museum you are confirming that you are not displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, and you have not you been in close contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last the 14 days.

If you feel unwell or start displaying symptoms of COVID-19 you should follow Government and HSE advice, by self-isolating and contacting your doctor for further advice and instructions.
