Ernest Shackleton is hiring, and you’ve been invited to join him on his most dangerous mission yet – crossing the Antarctic!

Grab your jacket, hat and scarf for this Primary school workshop, where we’ll be exploring the polar regions and all about snow alongside Irish Antarctic explorers Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean.

Delivered remotely, this camp consists of a 1-hour Zoom session designed to get students engaging with STEM and history in a fun, creative way. Joining Shackleton on his Endurance mission, they’ll discover some fascinating real life facts about the Antarctic and what it’s really like to live in the polar extremes, before taking part in a series of tasks to help Ernest complete his mission, including answering trivia questions and exemplifying different traits such as courage, patience and kindness.

Everything has been designed so that students can use minimal materials such as pen and paper to take part. All they really need is their imagination!

IMPORTANT
This workshop is designed for Primary School level students, and is offered at a reduced rate of €25.00 euro per booking. It is suitable for both school and home school students. Special rates available for home school students, contact us for details. Please do not journey to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum for this session.

This workshop will be offered as either a remote in class or at home learning session, depending on government guidelines.

If remote learning is still in place all students taking part can log in from home.  Each student will need an internet connection and access to Zoom to take part. All students taking part must be supervised by a guardian during the session.
