Join us on Tuesday May 15th at 5.30pm as we explore the historic legacy of Patrick O’Connell and pay tribute to a true giant of international football. Tickets: €5
Patrick O’Connell, affectionately known as ‘Don Patricio’ led a remarkable life. During his youth he captained both Ireland and Manchester United to victory before immigrating to Spain where he is best remembered for guiding Real Betis to their only La Liga title and reputedly saving F.C. Barcelona from financial ruin during the Spanish Civil War.
This talk coincides with our current temporary exhibition at EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum that looks at the life and achievements of O’Connell, as well as the upcoming release of the feature documentary that will premiere in Dublin at The Sugar Club on 14 May.
Sue O’Connell is the wife of Patrick’s grandson and the author of the authoritative biography on his life.
