EPIC offers a range of private workshops for individual classes. Below are our range of workshops that can be booked on a time and date that suits your class, giving the opportunity to include them as part of your virtual school tour experience.

Tiny Tots

Suitable for Junior to 1st class

Meet some of the museum’s famous characters in a fun, interactive storytelling workshop. These sessions are full of fun activities such as singing, drawing, mathematics and sensory exploration. Workshops are available on a range of topics such as Pirates, Explorers, Astronauts and Aviators. Tiny Tots is suitable for Junior Infants to 1st class students.

Climb aboard your rocket and leave the world behind in this galactic adventure with astronauts Neil Armstrong and Jocelyn Bell Burnell, all from the comfort of your classroom. All you need is your imagination to take part, along with some crayons and paper to bring the story to life!

Our ‘Emigrants Suitcase’ workshop highlights SESE curriculum-specific topics, exploring the Irish Famine through the eyes of those that experienced it. Step into the shoes of Famine emigrants including Isabella McDougall and Thomas Quinn using a collection of objects and supporting materials. Learn all about life on board a coffin ship, and take part in a range of activities such as debating, creative writing, drama and art.

Our virtual Techxibit workshop merges the past with the future, exploring fascinating history with amazing new tech! Digital technology has become one of the most powerful tools of our generation and ‘TECHXIBIT’ encourages students to combine STEM, Culture, and Heritage through a hands-on coding workshop for beginners. Using scratch, students will create their own virtual museum using famous Irish emigrates that feature in EPIC as their content and inspiration.

In this workshop, students will explore the Polar regions, discovering some fascinating real life facts along the way and what it’s really like to live in the polar extremes. Around the World with Nellie Bly

Ignite the imaginations of your class in this engaging interactive storytelling workshop featuring the tale of suffragist and revolutionary investigative journalist Nellie Bly, who in 1889, travelled the world in just 72 days. Using a mix of storytelling, quizzes, and simple drawing and sensory tasks, your class will explore the Primary history curriculum strands, the changing roles of women in the 19th and 20th centuries, and the history of exploration.

Full School Tour Experience:
Tiny Tots and EPIC Explorers

To make things as easy as possible for schools, EPIC has combined our Tiny Tots and EPIC Explorers together to create a special virtual tour package that will get the whole school involved.

Including a Tiny Tots and two EPIC Explorers workshops, our full tour experience can either be delivered over 1 day or over a number of days to make sure all students can get involved and enjoy.

For each session your class is able to choose between 2 of our exciting themed workshops.

  • For Tiny Tots: choose between Aviators or Explorers workshops
  • For 2nd-4th classes EPIC Explorers session: choose between Antarctic or Female Explorers
  • For 5th-6th classes EPIC Explorers session: choose between Space Explorers or Women’s History Poster workshop
